Accommodation

MKK has 12 rooms. Even though all rooms are individually different - these are divided in 3 categories.Comfort Rooms on the ground floor (3 nos), Haveli rooms on 1st and 2nd floor (7 nos), a heritage room ( 1st floor) and a family room (1st floor).
Amenities are largely same across room types. All rooms have different room sizes. Some comfort rooms can be bigger than haveli rooms also. Principal difference is in the character.
Tea/Coffee makers, King double beds, LCD TVs, 2 comp. water boSles, ACs Heaters (in winters), Bath Toiletries, Doctor (on call), Medical faciliFes nearby.

Food

Food at MKK is an integral part of stay experience as it should be in a Marwari haveli. It largely is based on locally available vegetable dishes, cooked in home-style. Some non-vegetarian dishes are on offer too. For breakfast, it is a mixed menu of local and standard North Indian dishes.
Not as a standard if you are booking on fixed meals basis. However, a pasta or a sandwich can always be available on request. MKK is as much your place as it is ours. So, we expect you to respect and appreciate local food while you are at MKK – but if that compromises your comfort, we are happy to accommodate requests.
Yes. We are happy to look into your specific requests and accommodate when possible.
There are a couple of decent, clean places to have south Indian food, Pizza or standard north Indian snacks. Nothing to be strongly recommend, but they serve the purpose. Should you wish to try them, please feel free to ask staff at property during your stay.
Yes. There is a limited menu including beer, Indian wine and few hard drinks.
Dinners are always served in main dining hall. But for individual travelers, we are happy to serve breakfast and lunches in our open spaces and lawn. To give you a different flavor, property has several custom dining opFons in its list of acFviFes and experiences.

Travel

Delhi is approximately 6 hrs drive – though it can vary depending on Fme you leave and where you are starting from. Gurgaon is closer while Noida is liSle further.
If you are starFng from Gurgaon side, the best route is to take NH 11 towards Jaipur unFl Dharuhera and then right towards Rewari. Aeer that follow Google map direcFons on state highways. For a more rural / scenic drive, you may want to get to Jhajjar (via Bahadurgarh or Gurgaon) and then follow from there via Charkhi Dadri and Loharu. Starting from West Delhi, you also may consider route via Bahadurgarh & Rohtak – connecting to Sadulpur -which has recently been re-laid and largely has a very good highway.
Churu has good train connecFons to Delhi and onwards to Bikaner and Jodhpur. There are 2 morning trains from Delhi Sarairohilla every day and 2 overnight trains. The night trains reach around 03:00 AM though and if you plan to travel by them, property needs prior in FmaFon since there is no 24 hour desk.
1.5 Kms. Autorickshaws are available right outside staFon. Most of them should know Malji Ka Kamra. Cars can be arranged at a fee for pick-ups as well as any local transportaFon needs to explore the region.
Mandawa – 35 Km Ramgarh – 14 Km Mahansar – 19 Km Churi Ajitgarh – 50 Km Dundlod -60 Km Nawalgarh – 70 Km Fatehpur – 35 Km Jhunjhunu – 50 Km Alsisar – 47 Km A half day or full day trip can be made to cover other ShekhawaF towns.

Activities / Experience

Churu is your gateway to the Thar desert and has beautiful frescoed havelis. So, the main aSracFon has to be that. Untouristy surroundings, clear skies, great ambiance, a feel of our heritage and an easy chance to soak in the desert around while exploring charming artwork.
There are dunes on the outskirts of town. Property arranges evening sundowner/ snacks on dunes as well as bonfires. You can combine them with camel ride too. The dunes are not a replacement to Jaisalmer, but you get a good personalized experience. Should you get adventurous, ask at property for dune bashing possibiliFes in Gypsy. One of the owners is big Fme into Off road rallying.
We can send you a soe copy of all acFviFes on offer. An explanaFon for most of them is included on MKK website also.
There are no freelancing guides in town since Churu is off the tourisFc track. One of the best guides for region is in-house. Couple of other staff have been trained as well. Given their limited availability, most of the walks in town and with few other guests. Should you wish to have an exclusive walk, please book in advance. For number of other acFviFes, various staffs from property are in-charge and they will brief you during stay.
Part of the Charm for an ooeat desFnaFon is that there are no souvenir shops around catering to tourists. However, you are welcome to explore the market for spices, texFle work of Bandhej, Papads and pickles. Region is also home to great furniture work.Property will assist you in those.

Yes, you can. The staff will be happy to discuss your ideas on how you wish to spend your Fme. However, given that everything (almost) is custom managed – there are certain limitaFons on what can be commiSed (and to how many guests) on a given day.So, to plan it best for everyone involved – you and your hosts - it is best to discuss and book in advance, parFcularly if you are traveling during vacaFons or long weekends.
Walk-ins are handled by property locally and so are corporate business travelers. We are happy to take your bookings, but you can contact property directly also.
RARE India is a branding cum markeFng partner to MKK. While they focus largely on Inbound, we are handling MKK’s domesFc sales. So, principally we are all aligned. Also, RARE does not do reservaFons on their own. They will direct it to MKK. So, please do feel free to make reservaFon whichever way you feel convenient.
October – Mid March is the best Fme.
